Beauty queens often represent all that is good and beautiful. At 24 years old, Miriam Quiambao brought home the first runner-up title at the Miss Universe 1999 pageant. And today, at 37 years old, she still holds that prestige of beauty and we're all wondering how she does it. Find out what how Miriam Quiambao maintains that beauty queen glow after all these years.
On looking and feeling young
I believe that in order to have great skin, to look and feel young, one must do her best to live a healthy lifestyle. Health must come from within. I do my best to achieve this by drinking lots of water, making healthy food choices, and exercising two to three times a week. Avoid smoking and drinking, and avoid late nights. I try to have six to eight hours of sleep. When I'm out under the sun, I use sunblock with at least 30 SPF. I also pray and do my best to stay positive even in the midst of stressful situations.
In the morning, I wash my face with Olay Total Effects Cream Cleanser followed by a toner, Olay Regenerist Serum, and Olay Total Effects Facial Moisturizer with SPF. This will be the base of my makeup. If I don't have taping, I usually just put concealer and lip and cheek tint with lip balm. I also curl my lashes. At night, I wash off all traces of makeup with Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil and Lancôme Eye Makeup Remover. Toner, Olay Regenerist Serum, Olay Eye Serum, Olay Eye Cream and Olay Night Cream follow. I also massage my cheeks with 60 to 100 upward strokes. I've read somewhere that it helps to keep skin lifted and helps facilitate collagen production. Aside from my daily beauty regimen, I try to have monthly facials for maintenance, especially when I have breakouts.
On plastic surgery
I think aging gracefully in spite of the wrinkles is the way to go. Even the smallest wrinkle is a mark of wisdom that comes with age.
A facial moisturizer and sunblock should be the top two products women should have on their shelves. This will totally help their skin look smooth and supple, and avoid the signs of aging. Antioxidants such as vitamin E and omega 3 are also good for your skin's health.
What she never leaves home without
I find that I always bring my lip and cheek tint with me. I also bring a lip balm and a small eyelash curler. These become my daily makeup when I don't need to go for tapings.
