Angel admits she still loves Luis Manzano

Four years after the break-up, Angel Locsin admits she still loves Luis Manzano.

"Oo mahal, mahal naman. Andiyan ang love, hindi naman nawala. Pero hindi naman ibig sabihin noon eh magiging kayo ulit o magkakabalikan kayo, di ba? Kasi kailangan pag-usapan muna ang napakaraming nangyari sa amin," Angel said in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday.

The Kapamilya actress and Luis recently broke up with their respective partners Phil Younghusband and Jennylyn Mercado.

Avoidance tactics

"For the longest time, iniwasan ko talaga yung tao (Luis). Hindi talaga kami nag-uusap. Iniiwasan talaga namin ang isa't isa for two or three years. So walang makakapagsabi na naglalandian kami kasi nagiiwasan talaga kami ng napakahabang panahon," Angel added.

Angel denied that Luis was the reason she and Phil broke up.

"Hindi po talaga, sobrang hindi. Si Phil ilabas natin sa usapan pero masasabi ko honestly na walang ginawa kung ano man, kahit usap kahit text ni (Luis) at masasabi ko minahal ko yung tao (si Phil) talaga. Walang panlolokong involved. Siguro habang tumatagal parang nare-realize mo 'yung pagkakamali. Siguro kapag tinadhana talaga kayo ng Diyos."

Does she want to reconcile with Luis?

"Sana. Kasi wala naman akong ibang pwedeng makita. Pero depende iyon sa amin kung okay kami together," Angel replied.

A reliable source says Luis went to Angel’s house on New Year’s day but failed to talk to the actress, because she was still asleep.

Mixed reactions

Angel knows her statements will earn mixed reactions, but she doesn’t mind because she wants to be true to herself.

"Ganyan talaga. Siguro mas gusto ko nang magalit sa akin ang mga tao kaysa lokohin ko, di ba? Mas konsensiya ko naman iyon. So pasensiya na. Gusto ko lang maging honest. Importante lang talaga."

Luis’ words

Meanwhile, Luis admitted he and Angel are no longer giving each other the cold shoulder.

"Yung ligaw, medyo mahirap kasi may past na kami. Slowly, we're talking again. So sana kung papunta na sa patching things up, maybe rekindling," Luis said in an interview on "Bandila" on Wednesday, January 15.

Angel said she and Luis are trying to settle past issues.

According to ABS-CBN News, Angel and Luis met after she told the press that she still has feelings for her him. She told DZMM that her revelation surprised Luis.

Phil, on the other hand, admitted he hasn’t moved on after his breakup with Angel.

"When you love someone, you can't get over them that easy. She's still in my heart. I still love her," Phil told "Bandila."
