Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” boasts of many firsts.
It was the first animated feature to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.
It relied on a proper script instead of a storyboard, the sequence of illustrations on which previous features were based.
And it was became Disney’s first full-length animated feature to be turned into a stage musical.
In fact, the musical was so successful, it is performed to this day 20 years after it was first staged.
And now you can watch it for free at the Cultural Center of the Philippines where it runs until Feb. 1.
