How Bianca King keeps romance alive

Bianca King signed a contract to play the lead role in TV 5's "Obsession"

She and her boyfriend may be thousands of miles away, but Bianca King manages to keep her long-distance relationship strong.

Bianca revealed that her non-showbiz boyfriend studies in the U.S. and they travel across the globe just to see each other.

“Madalas siya umuwi dito. Matagal ko na siyang kaibigan. Nakilala ko siya through his family. Mas una kong nakilala yung dad niya. He’s still studying. After ng isang show, nagiging habit ko na rin to go out and travel,” Bianca said at her contract signing with TV5 on Monday, January 13.

After her soap, “Maghihintay Pa Rin” wrapped up last year, Bianca took a break and studied acting at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Hollywood.

“Actually, kaya ko rin pinili yung LA kasi nag-aaral din siya doon,” she said.

Bianca and her younger boyfriend also spent Christmas in the Philippines together.

Time management

“I always make time. Sanay naman na ako sa time management. Noong nag-aaral ako, I was juggling school and work at the same time. Magaling naman ako sa time management,” she said.

After her showbiz relationships, does Bianca prefer a non-showbiz guy for a boyfriend this time?

“Yes, pero hindi ko naman pinili. Dumating na lang.”

Bianca learns a lot from her boyfriend, who is a Finance major. She feels they have a lot to share to each other because they come from different worlds.

“Mas tahimik pero like I said rin before, gusto ko yung may natututunan akong bago. Finance major siya, so natuturuan niya ako pag-isipan yung career moves ko, sa pagiinvest ng money. So it’s nice because I’m exposed to another world. Hindi lang puro showbiz. Naging close ko friends niya, family niya. He definitely keeps me grounded.”

Is her current boyfriend a better looker than her exes?

 “Pinakagwapo,” the proud girlfriend replied.

Bianca added, “He loves me very much, he’s very smart and very helpful. Ang dami niyang advice na nabibigay sa akin. He’s a very good support system.”

Not burning bridges

Now that she has signed up for the lead role in the Kapatid network’s new series “Obsession,” Bianca is happy to cross over from GMA 7 (where her contract just expired) to TV5.  But she’s not burning bridges. She hopes to get meaty projects in the three major networks – ABS-CBN, GMA 7 and TV5.

“Napaka-openminded ko. At this point in my career, iniisip ko yung stability, fulfillment as an artist. But in an ideal world, gusto ko pareho. Kung pwede ngang all three networks, why not?”

The longtime GMA talent also hopes other artists can find work in the three networks and  learn from as many artists as possible.

“Ang hirap sabihin na hindi na ako Kapuso kasi halos sampung taon rin ako na andoon. Siguro, I’d like to still be associated with both networks. Hindi ko naman tatalikuran yung pagiging Kapuso ko just because lumalabas ako sa TV5.”

“Obsession” also stars Marvin Agustin, Neri Naig and Alwyn Uytingco.
