Chiz Escudero, Heart Evangelista’s ninongs and ninangs are top of the line

"How much is this picture worth?" That's how Manila Bulletin lifestyle editor AA Patawaran captioned this photo she took from the recent island wedding. Photo shows the newlyweds with their high profile principal sponsors. (Photo from Manila Bulletin lifestyle editor AA Patawaran's Instagram)

Sen. Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista had top-of-the-line principal sponsors when they became man and wife at Balesin Resort on Sunday, February 15.

Their list of principal sponsors reads like a who’s who in politics, business and showbiz.

Chiz’s colleague and one of his best friends, Sen. Grace Poe, was the lone lawmaker among the principal sponsors.

Her fellow principal sponsors include business tycoons Ramon Ang (President and CEO of San Miguel Corporation), Hans Sy (of the SM group of companies), Megaworld Corp.'s Andrew Tan, Fernando Zobel (of Ayala Corporation), Gabby Lopez, head of ABS-CBN  (represented by younger brother Ernie Lopez of ABS-CBN Publishing), Lance Gokongwei (of Cebu Pacific, Robinsons Corp. and JG Summit), New San Jose Builders owner Jerry Acuzar and Alphaland Corp.'s  Bobby Ongpin.

Captains of media, Atty. Felipe Gozon, who heads the Kapuso network and GMA 7 executives Gilbert Duavit and Lilybeth Rasonable, Mel Tiangco and Jackie Lou Blanco are also part of the list.

Will those who did not make it to Balesin, like President Benigno Aquino III, Chiz’s best man, show up at the Manila reception at Blue Leaf Filipinas on Wednesday, February 18?

Heart, who told The Philippine Star that she and Chiz “understand the situation” (the bashing the President got for missing the arrival honors for the 44 fallen heroes) that kept P-Noy away from the wedding, said the Chief Executive will be there.

As for the rest of the esteemed principal sponsors who failed to make it to Balesin, we will find out if  they, like P-Noy, will catch up with the newlyweds two days from now.
