Newest Kapamilya actress Ellen Adarna doesn’t see anything wrong with having a sexy, liberated image.  Hers is a nontraditional family, so it’s not surprising that  Ellen appeared in various sexy magazines.

"If people think na sexy ako, eh 'di okay. Pero wala rin talaga akong pakialam. I didn't grow up in a conservative house. When I was 18, kick out kami ng bahay. Yung dad ko, we were raised how Americans were raised," Ellen said during the press conference of "Moon of Desire" on Thursday, March 20.

No fooling around

While she didn't grow up in a conservative home, Ellen stressed that she doesn't fool around with guys. In fact, her relationships last long.

Despite her sexy image, Ellen shared that she doesn't put herself in a situation where guys can take advantage of her.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Not naman in a way na pakawala ako sa mga lalaki. I don't sleep with random guys. Yung mga relationships ko, usually last three years. Yung pinakamatagal ko was 7 years. Mahilig lang ako lumabas. We're very nontraditional, ganoon ako lumaki."

Her father, who owns hotels in Cebu, initially didn't approve of her showbiz career, but  he’s now happy with how Ellen handles her life.

Here to stay

Ellen has changed her mind about bidding showbiz goodbye and says she’s here to stay.

"Iyon yung nasa GMA pa ko at parang wala namang nangyayari sa career ko, so parang uwi na lang ako. Then I contacted my new manager, why don't I try modelling na lang and enjoy my last six months. Sabi niya, 'Why don't you try ABS-CBN?' So, I'm here now. Hopefully, tuloy-tuloy."

Many probably saw Ellen's TV interview regarding her reaction on the issue between Vhong Navarro and the camp of Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo.

Drunk during interview

Her interview attracted people's attention, and some netizens even created memes from it.  Ellen herself admitted she was drunk when she was interviewed.

" First time kong mag trade launch and ako, I don't dance. I was super nervous, so inubos ko half ng bottle ng tequila and nagpa-interview."

It was a lesson learned for Ellen, who admitted feeling hurt over the criticisms she received after the interview.

Life goes on

"The first two days, I was a bit affected but life goes on. Basta hindi na magpa-interview ng lasing."

Ellen also clarified that she was "taken out of context" in the interview. She claimed that contrary to the headline of the TV interview, she didn't give a message for Deniece.

"Ang nilagay sa headline 'Ellen Adarna's message to Deniece,' which is wala naman talaga akong message sa kanya. I was taken out of context, lasing na nga ako tapos iyon pa ang headline. Wala talaga, wow mali."

Cedric Lee

The Cebuana actress admits she knows Cedric, but they are not that close.

"I don't even know his number. Kilala ko siya because I meet him when I go out and may mga friends kami ni common. Hindi kami best friends, hindi kami nagte-text," she said.

Ellen was supposed to star in Vhong Navarro's upcoming movie but Solenn Heusaff reportedly replaced her. Ellen said that it was a "blessing in disguise" because she gets to concentrate in Kapamilya's upcoming afternoon teleserye "Moon of Desire."

"Thankful pa rin ako kasi hirap ako sa character ko dito. Minsan nagta-taping kami ng 27 hours and walang tulog. How much more kung ipagsabay ko yung dalawa, wala na akong kaluluwa pagdating sa set."
