Mark Herras admits he's a dad
Kapuso actor Mark Herras finally revealed that he has a three-month-old daughter.
"Mayroon na po akong anak. She's a girl, three months old. Siya po yung first baby ko sa buong buhay ko. Iyon po yung gusto kong sabihin sa lahat ng tao," Mark said in an interview on "Startalk" on Sunday, February 23.
The baby's mom
Mark revealed that the girl, named Ada, was born last November. According to the show's source, the baby's mom is Mark's senior handler, who is five years older than him.
The 27-year-old actor admitted he and the baby's mother are not together anymore.
"Ang napag-usapan po namin, kailangan naming magtulungan para sa baby, para masuportahan yung bata, para mapalaki nang maayos. Lahat ng pinag-uusapan namin is tungkol sa baby. Tsaka na muna yung sa amin, kung ano yung mangyayari sa amin someday or kung ano man."
Afraid for his career
Asked why it took him months to reveal the truth, Mark admitted he thought of his career first.
"Unang-una, kapag nalaman ng tao na mayroon kang anak, di ba syempre maaapektuhan yung trabaho mo, yung buhay mo, yung career mo. Pero by this time kasi, kaya ako naging matapang kasi sawang-sawa na akong magdeny eh. I'm very proud of Ada dahil siya po ang aking first baby girl."
He now wants to be a good and responsible father.
It was in July 2013 when Mark and girlfriend Ynna Asistio called it quits. He didn't disclose the reason behind it, but denied that siring a child by another woman was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Mark admitted he wronged Ynna, who was his girlfriend when the baby was conceived.
"Sobrang sorry po sa nagawa kong kasalanan sa inyo. Hindi ko po gusto gawing saktan ang pamilya ninyo, pero hindi ko na po kasi kayang itago si Ada. Baby na po ang usapan. Sobrang laki ng kasalanan ko sa kanila."
