Nora Aunor admits Vilma Santos was her crush
Their respective fans used to pit them against each other, but this did not affect the friendship between Superstar Nora Aunor and Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos.
In fact, Nora admitted having a crush on Vilma during their younger days. Nora revealed on “The Buzz” on Sunday, February 22, that she used to watch Vilma’s movies many times over.
“Hindi ko naman ikinahihiya iyon, so totoo iyon. Simula nung bata pa ako, idol ko na si Mare (Vilma). Talagang fan ako noon. Limang beses kung panuorin ko ang pelikula niya. Talagang tumatakas ako sa bahay noon. Crush ko.”
Roses for Vilma
Nora gamely shared that she even gave roses to Vilma.
“Hangang sa noong nagkakilala na kami, nakatira siya noon sa Hilton. Bumili ako ng rosas. 7 o’clock nasa lobby ako ng Hillton, dumating si Mare ng 4 o’clock. Biruin mo, mula 7 hanggang alas-kwatro naghintay ako para lang maibigay yung rosas.”
“The Buzz” host Kris Aquino also relates that Vilma told her about Nora’s admiration for her (Vilma).
“Kwinento niya na ‘Alam mo binigyan niya ako (ng roses) at kursunada niya ako,’” Kris said.
Reunion with Coco Martin
Nora also talked about her reunion with Coco Martin a few months after their reported misunderstanding over rumors that the actress borrowed money from the latter.
Nora and Coco met again at the recent Gawad Tanglaw, where they won major acting awards.
“Masaya. Para bang nawalan ako ng anak at bumalik ang anak ko. Ang lambing-lambing niya nung gabi na iyon. Noon pa naayos naman na iyon,” Nora said.
Meanwhile, Nora denied rumors that John Rendez is her boyfriend.
One great love?
Asked if John is her “one great love,” Nora replied, “Hindi naman. Parang anak ko na iyan eh, kasing-edad ni Lotlot (de Leon, her daughter). Andiyan naman si Boyet (Christopher de Leon), si Pipo (Tirso Cruz III). Tsaka ang bata-bata naman noon.”
John never left Nora's side during her trying moments when she took a break a from showbiz.
“Napalapit lang talaga si John sa amin kasi napakabait na bata. And artist namin siya eh. Yung ibang tao kung wala ka ng pera, aalisan ka talaga. Pero si John, hindi.”
