What Steve Perry wishes for Arnel Pineda

Steve Perry, the original singer of Journey, the guy you replaced 7 years ago, isn't interested in getting his old job back.
Even if you did offer to bow out of Journey to give way to him.

"I don’t know who or what would make Arnel want to say such a thing," Perry told Fan Asylum.
Well, it seemed pretty obvious.
Last month, Perry surprised fans—and the pop music world—by making 3 guest appearances during the US tour of the band Eels .
Journey is Arnel's band
Perry hasn't been on stage since 1995—or a good 19 years.
So Arnel Pineda’s gallant offer was warranted, even expected, in a way that’s typically Pinoy.
"He's their lead singer," Perry emphasized, "and I only wish him all of the very best!"

Perry further quashed speculations that the “old” Journey might get back together.
“There is no reunion,” he stated categorically to Fan Asylum in a story dated June 18, 2014.
The site also ran a note Perry wrote last February which read: “I'd like to make clear that the rumor that I have returned to the band Journey is totally untrue and only a rumor. Sincerely, Steve Perry”
