Yeng Constantino engaged to marry boyfriend of 9 months
Yeng Constantino announced Saturday afternoon (March 8) that she finally said “yes” to her boyfriend of nine months, Victor Asuncion.
The 24-year-old pop-rock singer took to Instagram to share the good news to her close to 400,000 followers in the photo-sharing site.
“I said yes,” Yeng captioned the photo of two holding hands with hers wearing a diamond ring.
Before the announcement, Yeng also posted what seems to be a prelude to great news.
This isn’t the first time that the singer chose to tell the world a bit of her love life on social media.
It was on June 26 last year when she hinted via Instagram that she and her boyfriend were already officially together. She later told media that they became boyfriend and girlfriend on June 18, 2013.
‘God-fearing man’
In a February 2013 interview, Yeng said she wanted a “God-fearing man” as her future boyfriend.
That’s why Victor, a worship director at Victory Christian Fellowship in Greenhills, seems to be an answered prayer.
“Sobrang bait talaga ng boyfriend ko. Sobrang supportive sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. Hindi siya nakakaistorbo sa ginagawa ko, bagkus lalo pa niya akong nae-empower na mag-excel sa ginagawa ko. Inspired at overflowing na lang rin 'yung love. Lumalabas siya sa lahat ng ginagawa mo. Yung joy and security andoon.”
In an interview last July, Yeng said her first boyfriend is worth the wait.
“We pray na maraming bata na mainspire na talagang darating 'yung time na mai-in love ka na ‘This is it.’ To wait for the right person to come.”
Yeng also said love turned her rocker chick image into that of a softie.
“Ngayon, masaya ako, sinusulat ko yung nararamdaman namin. Baka sa next album, gumawa kami ng song together or baka pasulatin ko siya. Sa schedule mo the whole day, magtext lang siya ng ‘I miss you, I love you.’ Sobrang nakaka-boost talaga siya ng lakas.
