  • Robin Padilla starts green revolution

Robin Padilla and wife Mariel Rodriguez have yet to get into a heated argument lately.

It shows. The couple hold hands while touring the 40-hectare LAC Farms in Nueva Ecija. They sit next to each other while sharing a meal of organic food with the press.

“Matagal na kaming hindi nag-aaway. Nag-aasaran na lang kami paggising hanggang sa gabi, Buti na lang hindi kami pikon kasi hindi kami kumakain ng pampahigh blood,” Robin says over a lunch of organic rice, eggplant, free-range chicken and others.

    Organic lifestyle

The couple adopted the organic lifestyle feels duty bound  to share  its feel-good results.

“Ine-encourage natin ang mga kababayan natin na matutong gumamit ng herbal, hindi synthetic medicine. Wala itong side effects, di gaya ng mga iniinom over the counter na gagamutin nga ang sakit mo pero may sisirain sa yo,” says Robin.

At home, Robin brushes his teeth with organic toothpaste, washes his hair with organic shampoo and keeps himself smelling good with organic

  • Former 'Bulaga' Showdown Girl Gracia confirms separation from husband

Remember Gracia, Eat Bulaga’s Showdown Girl who gained a strong following – especially among men – because of her sexy dance moves?

Gracia, or Samantha Lopez, has separated from her husband, British businessman Warren Edwards and has reinvented herself as a real estate broker.

    Falling out of love

What happened? What pushes a wife who has everything an ordinary woman can dream of – a wealthy husband and a life in Manhattan – to seek divorce after a seven-year marriage?

“Nagkapatong patong na.  Three years bago ako nag-decide (to separate from her husband),” she replies.

Samantha, who is in town for 10 days to attend to her real estate business,  doesn’t cite just one reason for the separation.  The 14-year age gap between her and her much older husband, the cultural differences between them, the boredom that comes with being a lady of leisure -- all these, she says, eroded her marriage.

"Bottom line is, I fell out of love. Money can't buy happiness."

  • Robin Padilla is rooting for Rodrigo Duterte in 2016

Should he run for president in 2016, Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte has one strong supporter in action star Robin Padilla.

That’s because Robin likes Duterte’s pro-federalism views,  which rests on the concept of power sharing between national and provincial governments.

    Aetas of Pampanga

“Okay ako kay Duterte kasi ang sinusulong nya ay federalism. Naniniwala ako na ang mga indigenous tribes sa Pilipinas, mula sa Cordillera hanggang Sulu, ay dapat magkaron ng sariling lugar at sariling batas,” he told the press.

Robin’s heart goes out to the Aetas of Pampanga.

“Kawawa naman ang mga Aeta. Nawala na ang ancestral land nila. Sa federalism, magkakaron ka ng sarili mong lupa at pamumuno.  Sarili nila ang pulis doon.  Hindi magtuturuan kung bakit may terorista sa lugar na yon.”

He also feels strongly for innocent civilians caught in the Mamasapano clash that felled 44 SAF (Special Action Force) commandos last January 25.

  • Alonzo Muhlach’s gift to Fallen 44’s children

Sometimes, a  child can teach adults a lot about  generosity.

Alonzo Muhlach, 5, son of ‘70s child superstar Nino Muhlach, wants to give toys to the children of the Fallen 44 when he marks his birthday on Sunday, February 22 at Mowelfund Plaza.

“I have a classmate.  His name is Andre. His dad’s a soldier,” the star of the movie “Yamashita’s Treasure” and the soon-to-be-shown TV series “Inday Bote” explained to the press.

If Alonzo can afford to be that generous, it’s because he need not work to feed himself and his family.
Nino’s dad Alex invested all his earnings as a child wonder wisely (one of these investments is the El Nino Apartelle in Cubao, Quezon City).

“Yung iba hindi ko ba nagagalaw,” Nino relates.

This is why he can afford to give his son a luxury van – complete with bed, TV set, comfort room and ref – as birthday gift.

    Alonzo himself speaks straight English.
