AnneTindi: Why Anne Curtis is so punk rock

So what's wrong with going for your dream? (Photo by Ritchie Tongo/EPA)

I’ve got to hand it to her. She entertained ‘em really good.

It’s hard to put down anyone who has displayed so much effort, training and will to live out (what I assume to be ) a dream.

She's not a singer—we see that thus far—but we also see that she loves singing.

After reading her musical director Marvin Querido's post on how she conducted herself during rehearsals (arriving on time, remembering the names of her session musicians), I can't help but see a driven girl who did not let her lack of skill stop her from living out a fantasy.

And that wasn’t that

Her first concert AnneBisyosa had me on the issue all day, and I simply ended up making fun of her and cracking jokes.

I mean...wala siya sa tono... ang sakit-sakit sa tenga and all this at the Araneta Coliseum.

And after her first foray into the arena/stadium-level concert scene, I thought it would be the end of that.

Gumaling ba? Hindeeh!

Well it wasn’t. She went for round two.

I’m like, baka naman gumaling.

And as we saw how she was trashed in social media, apparently hindi.

Not the point

But, I now realize it’s not the point anymore.

In the end, mas punk rock pa si Anne kaysa sa mga ibang kilala kong magaling kumanta.

She doesn’t care, she wants to sing. Kahit wala sa tono, hala bira sige lang. That's the spirit.

Walang basagan

Hirap din basagin trip niya.

I mean, if we do that we might as well make fun of all the people in the Paralympics. These people can’t really run…or jump… or do flips...but did that stop them from competing?

They simply did what they could.

What’s wrong with making people happy?

As it is with Anne. She's not representing the Philippines in a singing competition, so relax.

All she did was put up her own concert, sing her guts out and try to make people happy.

What is the moral compass of good entertainment, anyway?

I wanna watch the next one. They can call it AnneTindi....
