Except, of course, for the fact that she has a pedigree all too familiar in showbiz, and the controversies too. It takes guts to be a Gutierrez? Well, by the looks of it, it’s seems to a bummer to be a Barretto nowadays.

Julia Barretto disproved all that. The rise of Julia somehow eased that negativity, and how she emerged amid all the scandalous items about her family is definitely exceptional. Julia had been quoted as saying that she is not too affected by all the brouhaha and was hoping the cruel, fiery exchanges would soon end, given that she was at the center of the maelstrom when the “implosion” started to happen.
But true to her word, Julia just remained focused on her work and her network was right beside her every step of the way.

ABS-CBN has given her the biggest break in recent months with the successful run of the fantasy drama series Mirabella, where her performance in the title role earned praise and acclaim, apart from the high ratings it garnered. It solidifies her emerging stature as one of the new bankable Kapamilya stars, with an immense following to show for it.
Julia has been nominated in the Yahoo! Celebrity Awards as Best Female Emerging Star, and has been a strong contender going to the final days of voting. She has what it takes to reach what her Barretto predecessors have achieved. She can go even beyond that—if Julia takes the right path and chooses her options wisely.
Hopefully, she doesn’t get “eaten” by the system or worse, get embroiled in the family scandals. We hope to see her make it on her own and succeed further as an actress and performer on the verge of stardom.
