More than a trophy for KC

It seemed a vicious irony.

Here’s the most thrilling accomplishment in KC Concepcion’s career as an actress and yet she wasn’t there to claim the recognition out of supposed frustration.

The alleged reason is the loss of a breakthrough role that made her pack up and leave behind this now-prolific career drawing much praise and recognition throughout the industry.

Can we say now that KC made the right decision in leaving the country after that supposed Dyesebel fit?

Worth the bailout?

Was the loss worth the bailout after her victory as Movie Actress of the Year in the recent Star Awards for Movies, her first-ever, for the MMFF movie Shoot to Kill: Boy Golden? Her win justified the wide ovation from both her followers and critics, and solidified KC’s position as a leading performer in the local scene.

From an actress’ standpoint, it was really heartbreaking. Who would not expect much from a possible primetime TV run that will have millions watching worldwide? Dyesebel is simply one of the most esteemed and prized roles, considering the character’s popularity, the compelling story, and the legendary ingredient that keeps making every “reboot” something to look forward to.

The “protest” was expected. But the departure was not.

And gone too were months of opportunities for even better projects where KC could showcase her talent even more. Maybe her emotions got the best of her.

But maybe there’s more to the story than what it seemed. And, we could trust KC to make good decisions.

Not right

Definitely, staying out of the industry for one more day is just not the right thing to do.

KC should learn that Dysebel is just one small setback, a mere speck in an emerging masterpiece. Yes, she should see the bigger picture.

That trophy is more than something she can’t wait to get her hands on. It should send her back.
