One cannot deny Marian Rivera’s incredible impact on the industry.

Her stardom is well proven and justified with the immense following and success of her TV and movie projects since her debut in 2005 in the afternoon drama Kung Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako.

Yahoo Celebrity 2014’s Media Magnet and three-time nominee (for Celebrity of the Year , Actress of the Year and Celebrity Couple of the Year – with boyfriend Dingdong Dantes) is a promise fulfilled. She’s one of the country’s premiere female artists, with memorable portrayals in GMA top raters Marimar, Dyesebel, Darna, Amaya, Endless Love, and Temptation of Wife, the Korean drama adaptation that earned her industry recognition, including a Best Actress win at the PMPC Star Awards and a nomination from the Asian Television Awards.

Consummate performer

Marian is also seen as a consummate performer, drawing accolades in all areas—from unconventional fantasy and horror roles in movies and TV to romantic films to comedic performances to reality TV hosting. She had been consistent in sustaining her streak of top-rating shows and high-earning movies through the years, including a stint as platinum recording artist, with her album Retro Crazy and the single "Sabay Sabay Tayo."

Who could forget her reign as the sexiest Filipina alive, as seen by readers of the popular men’s magazine FHM last year? She got the distinction of being the fan’s favorite as Celebrity of the Year in the 2013 Yahoo! OMG! Awards.

She indeed has the looks and the curves to get noticed, the talent to remain and sustain, and the drive to survive in the fiercely-competitive industry.

This includes facing several controversies and setbacks, which made her even more relentless in moving forward in her career.

Talent management switch

Charting her future has never been so clear for Marian, with her decision to switch her talent management last year so she could attain her freedom to decide on projects and roles to accept.

Marian has since hit pay dirt with this shocking decision, giving her optimal exposure not only in her home studio GMA-7 but also in ABS-CBN. Without having to switch loyalties (although she had mentioned she was open to a transfer), Marian had also appeared in ABS-CBN programs, such as Kris TV, The Buzz, and Bandila, and in Star Cinema’s Kung Fu Divas opposite Ai Ai delas Alas. Marian also made a cameo appearance in the award-winning Vilma Santos starrer Ekstra, which positioned her opposite Kapamilya premier actor Piolo Pascual.

Best of all, Marian has retained her stature as a primetime TV queen with the hit GMA 7 teleserye Carmela. She has expanded her reach, now as a noontime show host for the longest running TV program Eat Bulaga. She has also been declared the “royal” endorser by fashion line Bench, in addition to the many other brands she endorses.

New show

What’s even more exciting is her upcoming self-titled dance show, Marian, set to premiere on June 21. This is again another step at the right direction for Marian, who has again taken her craft to new heights with her own musical variety show, a phenomenon last seen in such programs as Superstar, Vilma In Person (VIP) and The Sharon Cuneta Show.

Has Marian reached this stature? With Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos and Maricel Soriano gracing the pilot episode, I think this phenomenon is real.

What’s next for Marian? We need not worry, I guess.
