Tearful Kris tells James: Sorry for the heartaches
Days after announcing she is currently dating Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, Kris Aquino again drew buzz in another episode of her late evening show, Aquino and Abunda Tonight, on Tuesday, April 8.
This time she shared a video of an upcoming on-cam interview with former husband James Yap that will be part of a segment of her morning show Kris TV. It will be dedicated to the birthday celebration of their son, Bimby.
Nine years of their lives
It was their first on-cam encounter since their bitter separation that led to countless court proceedings and bickering over media. However, a recent “settlement” over visitation rights led to their reconciliation as friends. This turned out a precursor to this momentous interview, which was initially intended as James's birthday greeting for Bimby. It became the key for both to end years of enmity.
Kris appreciates how James accepted Joshua, her son with actor Phillip Salvador, as his (James’s) own. And she told her former husband,
"Those are the things na nari-realize ko ngayon. Gusto ko lang ipaabot. Kasi for so long, puro galit lang. Nakalimutan ko kung ano dapat 'yung mga ipagpasalamat ko.”
"Looking back, nine years of our lives naman ito. From the time we met to everything, parang it's been nine years...Sobrang naa-appreciate ko na you also opened up your heart to him. I think also with my family, appreciative sila doon,” she added
Kris further stated: "I'm very sorry din sa mga heartaches na binigay ko.”
James says sorry, too
James responded: "Sorry din. Sorry din sa'yo kung hindi man ako naging perfect na partner mo. Thank you sa'yo dahil natanggap mo pa rin ako ngayon na okay na tayo. Thank you. Love, love, love!"
Kris took the time to patch things up with James because he “never surrendered” despite years of animosity.
"I want to say thank you to you dahil hindi ka rin naman sumuko. Ang ibang mga lalaki, puwedeng-puwedeng sumuko na at sabihing, 'Bahala na kayo sa buhay niyo dahil ayoko na ng gulo.' Pero hindi ka rin bumitaw, kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa'yo."
Always special
After the preview of the interview, which will be aired on Kris TV on April 11, Kris said James will always be special because she gave her something no other man has given her— a love they shared for nine years. She admitted having feelings of regret not forgiving James for his supposed transgressions as a husband and that he will always have a “place in her heart.” But she maintained she is already at a point in her life when she wants someone else to spend the rest of her life with.
This shows how Kris is serious about fulfilling the kind of happiness that has eluded her for so long. We wish her well.
