  • Korean girl group "A Pink" scored its first #1 music show  with their sophomore single, "My My." The group entered the K-Pop music scene in April 2011 with the debut single "I Don't Know," and the rest as they say, is history in the making.

"My My" is the carrier single off  the group's second mini-album "Snow Pink." It was released in late November and is indeed a certified "slow burn" song, thanks to its 90s-retro sound and bubblegum-sweet MV. The song also clinched the top spot on the January 5 broadcast of the M! Countdown.

"A Pink" members Naeun, Chorong, Hayoung, Eunji, Yookyung, Bomi, and Namjoo have certainly earned the respect of the Korean music-loving public, earning the Best New Female Artist Award at the 2011 MAMAs (Mnet Asian Music Awards). But the pressure   to earn a #1 finish on a South Korean music countdown still lies on the shoulders of "A Pink" and the "Pink Pandas" - as A Pink fans are known. It certainly doesn't help that "A Pink" is label mates with a number of

  • Super Junior (SportsKorea)The Filipino ELFs (Everlasting Friends), fans of K-Pop Hallyu stars Super Junior, were greeted with sad news for the new year as it was confirmed that the group's concert "Super Show 4" will not be staged in the Philippines this year. • MBLAQ (Publicity photo)Hallyu stars MBLAQ, responsible for some of K-Pop's most addictive tracks, including "Cry," "Stay," "Mona Lisa," and their #1 single "Y," has released "Scribble," an acoustic guitar-driven mid-tempo track that combines the signature hip-hop style of the boys with an unexpected but certainly welcome neo-classical accordion and Spanish guitar melody, in anticipation of the January 10 release of the boys' fourth mini-album,"100% Ver."

While "Scribble" seems to follow in the footsteps of previous MBLAQ singles "Oh Yeah" and "Mona Lisa," which employ classical music bases that showcased the musical diversity of Seungho, G.O, Joon, Thunder, and Mir, J.Tune Camp, the boys' management label, has made it clear that the carrier single of "100% Ver." will be "It's War," for which two teasers have been released to drooling A+, the name of MBLAQ fans. Both teasers, however, feature different songs - one teaser a section of a midtempo acoustic ditty - "Scribble," perhaps? - and the other a slightly

Fans of the hit 2009 Korean drama "You're Beautiful" are glued to their television sets once again for the latest in Korean romance drama, "Heartstrings". This new drama features the popular tandem of Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa. This time around, Jung Yong Hwa gets his chance with the partner he never had in "You're Beautiful".

Jung Yong Hwa who is extremely popular for being the leader of the band CNBLUE plays "Kevin" ("Lee Shin" in the Korean version), the lead vocalist and guitarist of a popular college rock band called "The Stupid". Park Shin Hye plays "Nicole" ("Lee Kyu Won" in the Korean version), a student of classical Korean music and leader of her own ensemble called "Windflower". Given their extremely different tastes in music, one can already feel the tension of the "opposites attract" theme of "Heartstrings". With good music as backdrop, "Heartstrings" offers a lot of light "kilig" moments as both characters start to lose their prejudices against each other.
