B1A4 explodes with ‘cute charms’ in ‘Beautiful Target’

Five-member Korean boy band B1A4 (Link: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/k-pop-rookie-boy-group-b1a4-turns-heads-232035100.html) has released "It B1A4," the follow-up to its debut EP, "Let's Fly."

The carrier single of the mini-album is "Beautiful Target," which is garnering hundreds of thousands of YouTube views thanks to the cute "aegyo" antics of the members Jinyoung, Baro, Sandeul, CNU and Gongchan. There are two versions of the video, the original and the "Zoom Zoom" version. Together, both videos have garnered more than two million views on YouTube!

B1A4 (Link: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/k-pop-rookie-boy-group-b1a4-turns-heads-232035100.html) has come a long way since its online comic series debut. They were also featured in MTV's "Match Up" opposite fellow Korean boy band Block B; eight shows featuring the boys' preparations for one of their singles.

The WM Entertainment stalwarts took their name from the fact that four members have Type A blood and one member has type B blood. You know how Koreans give importance to the "blood type personality" theory. An alternate explanation for their name B1A4 is "Be the One, All for One."

B1A4's (Link: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/k-pop-rookie-boy-group-b1a4-turns-heads-232035100.html) previous releases, "O.K." and ""Only Learned the Bad Things," were promoted to radio and Korean music shows. The Countryside Idols, another moniker for B1A4 (Link: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/k-pop-rookie-boy-group-b1a4-turns-heads-232035100.html) given that all five hail from provinces which are not the typical breeding grounds of Korean idols, have managed to win hearts of many teen and "noona" (older women) fans.

In my opinion, the "Beautiful Target" MVs are an explosion of cuteness. The boys ham it up over an energetic dance track, with the members wearing colorful outfits and donning all kinds of adorable accessories, including a tiger hoodie, paper crowns, and shirts sewn full of buttons. Baro, the lead rapper, comes into his own with his baritone raps, sounding a bit like Aqua, while CNU, a standout with his long hair and cute glasses, comes across all sensitive opposite the total aegyo explosion of leader Jinyoung. Then, of course, there are the impressive vocals of Sandeul and Gongchan.
