Discovering Ulala Session
The name "Ulala Session" is currently the choice buzzword in Korean entertainment. "Ulala Session" is the four-man band who won "Superstar K3", the Korean version of "American Idol" or "Britain's Got Talent." "Ulala Session" has been unstoppable even during their stint on the show. For the week of December 10, "Ulala Session" has two singles on the Billboard K-Pop Top Ten specifically "The Western Sky" (#4) and their single "With You" (#6)
"Ulala Session" is composed of Lim Yoon Taek (32), Park Seung Il (31), Kim Myung Hoon (29) and Park Kwang Sun (22). The quartet not only impressed Korea (and the world) with their melodic voices and perfect harmony but they won the hearts of many due to their close relationship and real-life struggles. The leader of "Ulala Session" Lee Yoon Taek was revealed to be fighting gastric cancer as he and his bandmates competed on "Superstar K3".
Since winning "Superstar K3", "Ulala Session" has been invited to perform in important shows including the 2011 MAMA awards where they wowed the crowd with their hip "medley" performance of a mix of K-Pop and Western songs. "Ulala Session" is so sought after nowadays even Boys II Men, who heard of their performance of "Open Arms", invited them to guest on their Korean show. Unfortunately, "Ulala Session" was unable to accept their invitation due to schedule conflicts. It is very clear that winning "Superstar K3" is only the beginning for "Ulala Session".
