Part 2: Five beautiful Korean actresses

I recently wrote a blog titled "Five beautiful Korean actresses" which featured Kim Tae Hee, Song Hye Gyo, Lee Da Hae, Ha Ji Won and Han Ga In. My choices drew a lot of comments from fans, most in agreement but some expressing support for other Korean actresses who did not make it to my list. To be honest, picking five out of many was a difficult task and I fully expected to write a follow-up to my first article. So, here it is - five more beautiful Korean actresses.

Go Hyun Jung

Go Hyun Jung is beautiful not just because of her physical appearance but for her admirable spirit of survival. Go Hyun Jung's entry into showbusiness started after she performed well during the 1986 Miss Korea pageant placing first runner-up. Although she did not win the crown, Go Hyun Jung went on to become one of the most respected actresses of her generation. At the height of her popularity largely due to the drama "Sandglass," Go Hyun Jung formally retired from the industry after marrying Chung Yong Jin of the Shinsegae department store fortune in 1995. Unfortunately, after eight years of marriage, Go Hyun Jung went through an ugly divorce. Showing her independent spirit, the actress made a successful comeback through the drama "Spring Days" and promptly secured her position as one of Korea's top actresses after her significant roles in dramas such as "Queen Seon Deuk" and "Daemul." Would you believe, Go Hyun Jung is already 40 years old and has 2 kids? Well...believe it.

Yoon Eun Hye

Yoon Eun Hye is considered one of the top fashionistas in Korean showbusiness. A staple of fashion magazines, Yoon Eun Hye has graced countless fashion magazine covers and has constantly proved her ability to make anything look good. Fans of Korean dramas are also very familiar with Yoon Eun Hye. The talented actress starred in key hallyu dramas including "Princess Hours" and "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince." It is good to note, however, that Yoon Eun Hye actually got her start in Korean showbusiness as part of the popular girl group Baby V.O.X. She has since moved on to acting and has proven her comedic and dramatic chops in dramas and movies alike. Yoon Eun Hye's recent projects included the fairly successful drama "Lie to Me" and the movie "My Black Mini Dress."

Jung Ji Hyun

Jung Ji Hyun (also known as Gianna Jun) exudes the Asian beauty ideal--tall, thin and fair. She is the girl every girl wants to hate. The striking actress shot to crossover fame through the success of the Korean cult classic "My Sassy Girl." This film was so successful that it inspired an American remake in 2008. Jung Ji Hyun also starred in "Il Mare" ("The Lake House") and "Windstruck." All these films did extremely well in the box office making Jung Ji Hyun the "princess of Korean romance." Although already successful in the romance genre, Jung Ji Hyun also completed films in other genres including thriller with "The Uninvited" and action with "Blood: The Last Vampire." The actress's recent film project was a Fox Searchlight production titled "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" where she co-starred with Hugh Jackman. She is set to star in the upcoming action thriller "The Berlin File."

So Ye Jin

So Ye Jin possesses one of the most striking "eye-smiles" there is in the business. Just looking at her photo is enough to make a person feel that there is a special twinkle in her eye. So Ye Jin boasts of a multi-faceted filmography including work in almost all genres. The actress first broke out through her excellent performances in movies like "Lovers' Concerto" and "The Classic." However, her biggest claim to fame is starring opposite hallyu superstar Bae Yong Joon in "April Snow." The beautiful So Ye Jin does not shy away from mature sexy roles. The actress has completed movies with intimate elements including the drama "My Wife Got Married" and the comedy "The Art of Seduction." So Ye Jin also got to romance top Korean idol, Lee Min Ho ("Boys Over Flowers", "City Hunter") in their 2010 drama "Personal Taste." Her next project is the film "Tower."

Han Hyo Joo

Han Hyo Joo is already an accomplished actress even at a young age of 25. Best known for her work on popular dramas such as "Brilliant Legacy" ("Shining Inheritance") and "Dong Yi," Han Hyo Joo was discovered through a teenage beauty pageant. Since getting discovered, she has starred in numerous films and dramas including "Spring Waltz," one of the four season-themed dramas directed by Yoon Seok Ho. Han Hyo Joo is not just a pretty face, though. She has won several acting awards including "Best Actress" for "Brilliant Legacy" and "Dong Yi." Han Hyo Joo has also proven her flexibility having been able to portray both youthful and mature roles. Han Hyo Joo is currently working on a historial film titled "I Am King of Joseon" opposite top Korean actor Lee Byung Hun.
