Claudine a ‘blockbuster hit’ once again?

After rumors of her troubled showbiz and acting career, Claudine Barretto proved to be a "blockbuster hit" again with the uploaded video on YouTube of her, husband Raymart Santiago and company ganging up on broadcast journalist Mon Tulfo at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Sunday, May 6.

Millions have seen the video since it was uploaded last Sunday night, May 6. Claudine in the video is in action - a fighter looking for an opening and then punching the manhandled Tulfo when the opportunity arose.

It wasn't though the kind of "blockbuster hit" Claudine would have wanted to bury speculations that her acting career was sinking or has sunk already. Then, too, the said YouTube video, accordiing to Raymart, did not show the truth about the incident.

Just the 'end story'

During Raymart and Claudine's press conference at Red Garlic Bistro last May 7, the actor explained that the video was just the "end story" of what really transpired.

"Mga two meters ako, nilapitan ko siya tapos tinanong ko siya, 'Sir, para saan po yang kinukunan ninyo. Pangisi-ngisi pa siya tapos bigla niya akong binigyan ng open hand sa mukha tapos tinadyakan ako," described Raymart.

He added that Claudine then went to Tulfo, whom Raymart said he didn't recognize until they were at the police station, and asked why he punched and kicked Raymart. The actor then was surprised that Mon also kicked Claudine. So he went to her rescue and that was the incident caught on video and uploaded on YouTube.

He stressed that "hindi pinagtulungan si Mon Tulfo," and the people in the video were security personnel of the airport and that there weren't eight people ganging-up on Tulfo.

"Iba na kapag nakita mong asawa mo ang nakita mong sinasaktan," Raymart said in the course of the press conference and interviews.

Questions

Raymart's explanation of the airport incident spawned a number of questions. In one statement he said that Tulfo first kicked Claudine so he ran to her rescue. But as stated above, he said that he was first struck by Tulfo.

He also said that they didn't gang-up on Tulfo, but who was the guy in pink who kept punching Tulfo while another person held the broadcast journalist? Is this also a foretaste of things to come or happen when an ordinary person takes a photo of the couple in public and they don't like it?

When Raymart explained it was Claudine's "mother's instinct" that drove her to shout at the Cebu Pacific ground steward about the baggage left in Boracay, wasn't it more of a "mother's instinct" to pack it in her carry-ons or even inside Raymart's hand carry if he had one?

The couple's lawyer said their children were traumatized by the experience of seeing their parents struck by Tulfo and that was an important reason for them in filing a lawsuit. But wasn't it traumatizing as well to see their mother shouting and allegedly cursing at a Cebu Pacific ground steward?
