Don’t drop the ball, Ramon

To some, seeing them together elicits a profound shock, sometimes a puzzled look and not a few warm cheers. But for many, the reaction is a hearty “wiggle.”

Now, the “relationship” that has since flooded social media since a “confession” over a late-night talk show, has become as real as it gets.

Or is it?

Funnyman Ramon Bautista seemed to have snagged the biggest prize of his life, the heart of gorgeous and stunning DJ-actress Jinri Park. In the interview in Edu Manzano’s “What’s Up Doods” on TV5, Jinri admitted finding the comedian “attractive”, with a score of “8” on a scale of “1 to 10.”

“Funny” and “smart”

She said the Internet sensation and university professor has these irresistible qualities of being “funny” and “smart.”

As the interview turned emotional in the end, everyone concluded that something was really going on, given that the girl had first “jumped the gun.”

Calling each other “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” on Twitter, the “lovebirds” showed they really hit it off, with photos of them “dating” circulating on the Internet.

But as the rumors went wild and made their supposed romance the talk of the town, you could not guess what would happen next.

Here comes yet another confession, this time from the “lucky guy” now breaking his silence.

“Hindi po,” Ramon tells an entertainment news portal.

He uttered two words in reply to a question on whether there’s truth to the rumors that he and Jinri are an item, and that’s it.

Now, the flashy, debonair, love guru to the jilted has brought us back to reality, and to our senses, unwittingly dousing cold water to the buzz that has made him a worldwide trending topic to the hopeless romantic. Maybe, it has also dashed all hopes for an eventuality that a popular optical shop commercial was all lies.

But, whether we like it or not, loathe him or not, he was telling the truth. And Jinri confirms this in the TV interview. She did not mention anything about a romance but qualities she sees in him that she finds ideal, and would date him if he asked her out.

Real girlfriend?

Also, a photo circulating the Internet from a blog post last February showed Ramon together with his “real girlfriend”, Adamson varsity volleyball player Mayette Zapanta, who could be the reason behind this surprise denial. But Ramon has not officially confirmed this.

Then, is it all for show? Maybe or maybe not.

Whatever’s the real score, Ramon will always be the showbiz “lucky guy.”

A word of caution, though, for Ramon: Don’t drop the ball or lose all your “pogi points.”
