Jake denies dating Kim, Bianca
Fresh from his breakup with Melissa Ricks, Jake Cuenca is on the hot seat again for being romantically linked to Kim Chiu and Bianca Manalo, his ex-girlfrend's close friends. However, Jake quickly denied the rumors, saying it's not yet the right time for him to date again.
"Kami ni Kim, hindi talaga. We're friends. And I don't mean that in a showbiz way. Talagang walang nagliligawan sa'min ni Kim," Jake clarified in an interview with 'The Buzz' yesterday, June 19. Jake and Kim worked together in various TV projects, in which he emphasized that are just friends. He also says Kim is like a sister to him.
"Nothing's going on between us and medyo awkward yun kasi best friends kami ni Gerald. Ang tingin ko talaga kay Kim parang kapatid ko yun eh," Jake adds. Jake also finds it awkward to be romantically linked to Kim.
Kim also doesn't want to comment on the issue.
Jake and Melissa admitted their breakup only early this month. The two were in a relationship for more than a year.
Has Jake started dating again? "Pero sa ngayon, it's not yet the right time to be dating yet. When it comes to unang-una with my work, ang dami dapat asikasuhin," he says.
Aside from Kim, Jake is also rumored to be dating Bianca Manalo. "I see her here sa Happy Yipee Yehey. Sometimes nakikita ko sya around ABS, pero wala namang ligawan," Jake said. Bianca is also linked to John Prats, rumored to have caused the John-Rachel Ann Go's split.
Not dating
Jake admits he finds Bianca pretty but clarifies that they are not dating. "Totoo naman, napakagandang babae ni Bianca, kahit sino naming lalaki mabibighani sa kanyang kagandahan. Pero wala, wala," Jake says.
Bianca also clarified in "The Buzz" that Jake didn't court her. "Hindi, hindi sya nangligaw. Nag-usap na kami ni Mel. Nakakapagtaka na ako yung nadadawit. Eh ako yung isa, tatlo lang kasi kami na sinabihan ni Mel eh nung nagbreak sila ni Jake," Bianca says. She adds that she only got to know Jake because of Melissa.
Jake wants the rumors linking him to Kim and Bianca to stop. "Wag na sana nating palakihin, syempre ang iniiwasan ko dito yung magpasok o magdamay ng mga tao sa mga isyu na pinagdadaanan ko ngayon," Jake notes.
Recently, Melissa tweeted various messages believed to be directed at Jake. However, Jake refused to comment, saying that he hasn't talked to Melissa recently and he values her opinions. "You know the tweets I really can't answer about the tweets kasi we haven't really been talking recently. Sa tweets, syempre may sariling opinion si Mel," Jake said.
Private matter
He adds that he doesn't want to divulge any more details on their breakup as they also tried to keep their relationship private when they were still together. Jake wants to have this breakup issue just between him and Melissa. "Maybe why it worked out kasi di naming masyado dinitalye ang relationship naming sa TV, so siguro pwede nyo nang ibalato sa akin ito. Just because we broke up, hindi naman ibig sabihin pwede na naming idetalye ang relationship namin in front of the camera."
What does he think of Melissa's situation?
"Sa lahat naman ng relationships, after coming out of the relationship, you need time to heal. At siguro ito yung panahon na iyon," Jake replies. He adds that Melissa needs time to heal. And despite the issues arising from their breakup, Jake still hopes he and Melissa can be friends.
"I've been praying for that na maging magkaibigan kami," Jake says.
