Jennylyn’s biological mom contests daughter’s statements

Jennylyn Mercado's biological mother Jinkee contested her daughter's statements in her tell-all interview in the June 2011 issue of YES! Magazine.

"I have been quiet and since January to May, we had a lot of communication. My question is, why now? I don't understand why now, after all those times na I already have communication with Jenny," Jinkee said in an interview with TFC-ABS-CBN Middle East aired on "The Buzz" on Sunday, June 5.

She added that they have "plans to see each other on "the 24th to the 29th of June."

According to the YES! Magazine article, Jennylyn has since been left under the care of Lydia after her biological parents, Jinkee, now based in Dubai, and musician Noli Pineda allegedly abandoned her. In the interview, Jennylyn said she last saw her biological mother at the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City when she was in Grade Four. Her father attempted to reconnect with her after she won "Starstruck" in 2004 but has never bothered her since.

Jinkee and Lydia are reportedly cousins brought up by Salustiana Vergara, their adoptive mom.

However, Jinkee said she is not related to Lydia.

She also said Lydia has not officially adopted Jennylyn.

"There's no agreement between me and Lydia. She did not even try officially na ampunin si Jennylyn. There's no adoption paper and it doesn't exist at all," Jinkee said.

Jinkee also refuted Jennylyn's physical abuse claim when the actress was under the care of her stepfather, adding she didn't have a husband that time.

"It didn't happen," she said of the child abuse.

Friends with Patrick

Meanwhile, Jennylyn interviewed Patrick Garcia in yesterday's episode of "Showbiz Central."

The former couple reiterated that they're currently in good terms, mainly for the sake of two-year-old son Alex Jazz.

"Ever since naman, (walang sama ng loob). Kumbaga, never naman ako nag-ano e, nagtanim ng sama ng loob, o basta kung ano yung sabihin mo sa akin, tatanggapin ko na lang. Hindi ko na ide-defend yung sarili ko," Patrick said.

He added, "It's nice to be friends. Syempre, may Jazz tayo. Syempre mas maganda kung magkakaibigan tayo para mapapaparamdam natin sa anak natin na, in a way, kumpleto."

Jokingly, Jennylyn asked Patrick if he misses her. Patrick shyly replied: "Baka magalit si Luis."

Does Patrick think Luis is good for Jennylyn, who only recently broke up with Dennis Trillo?

"Si Luis, ilang beses kong nakatrabaho. Si Luis, gentleman, matalino, at masarap kausap. At feeling ko naman na kaya ka nyang alagaan. Pero syempre mas importante yung feeling mo," he told Jennylyn.

And what qualities in a man does he think Jennylyn should look for?

"Yung mature. Yung kayang tanggapin na may anak ka na. Yung di ka sasaktan," Patrick said.

He added, "Love is always a risk. Hindi mo alam kung paano (matatapos). Kung happy ending o hindi. Follow your heart. If you get hurt or not, babangon ka rin pa naman e. Just take the risk."

Patrick also said he supports Jennylyn and Luis.

However, the Kapuso star reiterated that she's still single.

"Hindi pa ako handang pumasok sa isang relasyon. At kung makakapaghintay, mas maganda. Kasi ako talaga, siguro, matatagalan pa. Focus muna ako sa family ko at sa career ko sa ngayon," she said.
