Shaina chooses not to work with John Lloyd

Shaina Magdayao opts not to work with boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz in any showbiz project. Although she says she is happy with their relationship, Shaina disclosed that she would rather keep her personal life separate from her career.

Just work

“Mahahaluan ng showbiz news. Di pa nga po kami nagtatrabaho, ito na, nabakbak na. Paano pa kaya? So masaya naman po kami ng ganito. And, so far, nag-wo-work s’ya for us and for the relationship na meron kaming kanya-kanyang buhay (It’ll become showbiz news. We haven’t worked together yet and we’ve already been swamped with controversies. Imagine what would happen if we worked together. We’re happy with the way things are. It works for our relationship. It’s good that we have different interests),” she said.

With all the intrigues she had to face this year—including that malicious issue that involved her and boyfriend John Lloyd—Shaina admitted 2010 is indeed a tough year for her. But the actress says she didn’t come out empty-handed from the experience.

Challenging year

“Pinatibay ako ng taon na ito (This year has made me stronger),” Shaina said during the during the “Shake, Rattle, and Roll 12” press conference last November 25 at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Quezon City.

She added, “I can say na parang ito yung pinakamahirap na taon for me pero napakarami ko pong natutunan ngayong taon na ito. At ngayon mas napapahalagahan ko yung mga tao around me. Ang aking pamilya, ang aking trabaho. So kahit ganoon siguro ka-negative ng mga napagdaanan ko, ang positive ho ng balik sa akin as a person. Kaya nagpapasalamat po ako (I can say that this has been the most difficult year for me, but I also learned a lot. Now, I appreciate the people around me more. I appreciate my family and my work more. Even if I had to deal with a lot of negative things, there were many positive developments in my life that made me a better person. That’s why I’m very thankful).”

Blessings after the intrigues

It wasn’t easy, Shaina said on the time she had to face the intrigues. In fact, Shaina said she almost lost hope in the midst of the issues However, the solid support of her friends and family helped her deal with everything.

Shaina was referring to her hit ABS-CBN afternoon soap opera “Alyna” and her two Metro Manila Film Festival movies, “Shake, Rattle, and Roll 12” and “Ang Tanging Ina Mo: Last Na ‘To.”

Another blessing she gained for the experience: all the intrigues made her relationship with John Lloyd stronger.

She explained, “Well, kasi sa bagong relationship, usually masaya pa kayo, dapat wala pa kayong problema pa, di ba? Pero with us, naging opposite. Binigyan agad kami ng problema na surprisingly kinaya namin. Kaya nakakatuwa, kasi isa s’ya (John Lloyd) sa mga tao na di bumitaw at di nang-iwan sa akin (Well, when a relationship is new, you’re usually happy since you don’t have any problems yet. With us, it was the opposite. We got hit by problems right away. Surprisingly, we were able to handle it. That’s why it makes me happy, that he was the one person who didn’t let go or leave me).”

Shaina also said dealing with controversies helped her gain more confidence to face problems, now that she knows she has people around her who will support her no matter what happens.
