Simon accepts Gerald’s basketball ‘dare’
Simon Atkins, captain of De La Salle University basketball team and Kim Chiu's admirer, has accepted the friendly basketball challenge of Gerald Anderson, Kim's on screen partner.
"Okay lang sa akin kasi friendly game lang naman. It's fun also to see na Gerald Anderson playing against me. If he wants to do it, sige we'll set it," Simon said in an interview with "E-Live" last Saturday, June 18.
Asked if he's willing to go one-on-one with Simon in basketball, Gerald teased, "Doon na lang magkaka-alaman."
Simon said he's excited and nervous for the game if ever it will push through. "Nervous din kasi if natalo ako nakakahiya 'di ba," Simon said. He also thinks that Gerald plays better basketball than he does.
"Siyempre siya. Maraming nagsabi sa akin magaling daw siya sobra. Siguro nag-concentrate lang siguro siya sa showbiz," says Simon.
The De La Salle Green Archers basketball captain is also flattered to learn that Gerald was surprised when he was linked to Kim. "Flattering na iyon kasi siyempre compared to him, hindi naman ako isang Gerald Anderson," Simon said. He adds that he understands what Gerald is feeling. "Maybe kasi siyempre hindi naman maiiwasan na si Gerald he cares about Kim din naman siyempre. I guess pag mayroong ibang lalaki na sa tingin niya puwedeng maiba siguro yung feelings ni Kim sa kanya, ganoon din naman ako. Siguro kapag meron akong ex tapos may ibang lalaki, siyempre hindi rin naman maganda yung feeling," Simon said.
In another interview, Gerald said he was just joking about the basketball challenge. "Joke-joke lang iyon. Actually napapanood ko ang mga games ng La Salle kasi mahilig talaga ako manood ng basketball," Gerald shares. Gerald thinks Simon is better than he is in basketball.
"I'm sure sya. Sya yung captain ng team nila. For you to be a captain, you have to be good," Gerald said.
