Vic, Ai Ai to team-up in MMFF entry this year
"Dream come true, wish come true, at saka answered prayer." This is how comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas described her upcoming movie team-up with Vic Sotto for a Metro Manila Film Festival entry this year.
Ai Ai said that she is excited to work with Vic, whom she said she idolizes. Vic and Ai-Ai's last project together was in the GMA-7 sitcom '1 for 3' along with Rosanna Roces. Last year, Ai-Ai's movie, "Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last na 'To!)" and Vic's movie "Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote" both lorded it over last year's Manila Film Festival.
"Sabi ko last year na next year sana hindi naman na kami magkalaban, sana magkakakampi na kami," Ai-Ai said in an interview with Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN) on Tuesday, June 7. Ai-Ai won the "Best Actress" award in the 2010 MMFF for her movie "Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last na 'To!)."
Star Cinema and M-Zet Productions will again collaborate on the project after Vic's successful pairing with Bea Alonzo in "Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak!"
Ai Ai said she looks forward to reuniting with Vic. "Oo, sobra. Kase idol ko ngayon. Tsaka sobrang nakakatawa. Sobrang nakakatawang kasama," Ai-ai said.
"Syempre first time namin magtambal, kelangan gawin namin lahat ng makakaya namin parang maging part two, part three, part four ito," Ai-Ai added. Both Ai-Ai and Vic's previous films have always been box office hits. Vic's "Enteng Kabisote" films also had sequels, as well as Ai Ai's "Tanging Ina" series.
When asked what Ai-Ai and Vic can promise the viewers on their new movie, "More fun, lahat nang makakapagsaya sa mga tao gagawin namin ni Bossing syempre," Ai Ai said.
