Willie talks about God, kids on 50th birthday

In two days time, Willie Revillame will be celebrating his 50th birthday. As he reaches this milestone, the controversial host says nothing is more important to him than assuring the future of his children and keeping a close relationship with God.

Willie received a fair amount of criticism and support in his numerous controversies in the five years as host of the ABS-CBN noontime show "Wowowee" and currently as host-producer of the TV5 early evening game show "Willing Willie." He maintained that while he continues to get pummeled by his detractors, Willie only devotes time to what his supporters have to say and how to make them happy.

For his children

During the same interview with "Paparazzi," Willie revealed that the fortune he amassed as a prized game show host was not merely his own but for his children.

Willie was named the top taxpayer from the entertainment industry and third overall, having paid over P57 million in taxes in 2009, according to an online report of the Bureau of Internal Revenue released late last year.

Willie is aware of all his shortcomings as a father. In the interview, he asked forgiveness from his children for all he's done wrong and vowed to be there whenever they need him.

Willie has three daughters and a son with different partners. Among his children are Meryl, an award-winning actress and his daughter with Maricel Soriano's sister Bec-Bec, and Juan Emmanuel or Juamee, his son with ex-wife Liz Almoro.
