10 reasons why you should watch Jack Jones

Jones has been to Manila many times and loves the Philippines and the Filipinos.

Jack Jones? Compared to Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus, he may be a stranger to young music lovers out there. But that doesn’t mean he’s not bland and worthy of being passed up.

In fairness to the guy,  Jones has quite a number of assets that could convince young romantics and the young-at-hearts to come watch his shows on Thursday, February 13  at Smart Araneta Coliseum and Friday, Feburary 14 at the Manila Hotel Tent.  Here are some.

1. Jones is performing for victims of Supertyphoon Yolanda.

2. His songs, “Lorelei,” “Lollipops and Roses,” “The True Picture” and “She,” among others speak of love everlasting – just right for this season of hearts.  And that doesn’t include the fact that these songs were hits when celphones and computers were still unheard-of.

3. The guy has two Grammys to his name for  “Wives and Lovers” and “Lollipops and Roses.”

4. He loves the Philippines and has been coming back and forth to perform in the country for countless times and has cultivated friendships among Filipinos.

5. At 76, he has preserved his voice and stamina.

6. He has maintained those good looks that landed him movie, TV and Broadway stage roles.

7. He likes it that Filipinos are romantic and they express their appreciation for him by singing along during his shows.

8. Anyone can sing along to the simple melodies of his songs.

9. The young can bond with Mom and Dad while listening to the soundtrack of their parents’ lives.

10.Romance, the kind he sings about, will never go out of style.
