18-year-old wife warns Ka Freddie about adultery

His wife, May Jovie Albao’s 18th birthday party serves as a warning to Freddie Aguilar never to have extramarital affairs.

The "Anak" hitmaker's wife became of legal age on Monday, December 1. As expected, Ka Freddie threw a birthday bash in his Tomas Morato bar to celebrate this milestone.

Addressing her husband of one year, Jovie cracked up the crowd when she quipped, "Nakakalungkot naman, 18 na ‘ko e.

The teenage girl from Oriental Mindoro, who was 16 then, earned not a few bashers when Ka Freddie confirmed their May-December affair late last year. He married Jovie in Islamic rites in Buluan, Maguindanao a month after.

Family first

The happy occasion turned emotionally-charged as Jovie shed tears while thanking her parents for standing behind her controversial affair with the 61-year-old music icon.

"Kasi noong nagkarelasyon kami, sobrang naging isyu. Lahat ng masasakit na salita, natanggap nila (her parents),” she told ABS-CBN News after her birthday speech.

Jovie said she also sees her married life improving as they celebrate their anniversary.

Growing family rift

Maegan Aguilar, Ka Freddie’s estranged daughter, earlier revealed to Yahoo Philippines her stepmother’s family allegedly benefits from her father’s generosity, with the singer-songwriter giving Jovie’s parents a house in Mindoro.

It will be recalled that Maegan was kicked out of her father’s residence in Quezon City in May due to “rotten veggies” and P1,500 unpaid debt.

Maegan also suspects her dad is under his teenage wife’s spell.

Second honeymoon up next

Ka Freddie also told ABS-CBN News he and his wife are looking forward to 2015 when they would put up a cafe after she completes her Culinary Arts course.

A second honeymoon is also in the pipeline next year, probably in Jovie’s hometown in Mindoro or in-between breaks from Ka Freddie’s shows in the United States and Europe.
