'2000 AD' goes DRM-free digital

"2000 AD Comics – featuring Judge Dredd" iPad app By Rebellion 2000 AD

2000 AD's parent company, Rebellion, has announced that the comic will now be available to readers in DRM-free digital format.

All digital purchases, including those made from the webshop, iOS app and Android app, are now available to download as DRM-free PDF and CBZ files from the 2000 AD webshop.

All past purchasers of the comics will also be allowed to access DRM-free versions.

The comic publisher is also expected to move to Kindle, and Windows Phone in the future.

When future Amazon Kindle and Windows mobile apps are released, purchases made on these platforms will also be available to download through the 2000 AD web store interface, provided users use their Rebellion ID email address and password on all platforms.

2000 AD's apps allow users to purchase "2000 AD" and the "Judge Dredd" Megazine on the same day they hit newsstands in the UK, as well as access a huge archive of classic story collections such as "Judge Dredd," "Strontium Dog," "Halo Jones," "Sláine," "Ace Trucking" and more.
