A night with Shinee, EXO-K and Dal Shabet

SHINee, EXO-K & Dal Shabet Go to Philippines for K-Pop Republic Concert

Filipino K-pop fans have another reason to celebrate as three big K-pop groups are coming to Manila this September for a one-night only concert.

Boy bands Shinee and Exo-K and girl group Dal Shabet will headline Kpop Republic at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, September 7.

This will be the second time Shinee and Exo-K will visit Manila, while it’s the first for Dal Shabet.

Shinee, which debuted in 2008, first visited Manila in 2009 for the Philippine-Korea Friendship Festival held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Shinee, one of the first Kpop acts that visited the country, is composed of Minho, Key, Onew, Taemin and Jonghyun. Shinee is the group behind the hit songs “Replay,” “Juliette,” “Hello,” “Dream Girl,” and “Ring Ding Dong.”

“We will finally meet you at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for the Kpop Republic concert. Kpop fans, Shinee world fans, and the Philippine fans, let’s all meet in the Philippines,” Shinee said at the concert’s promotional video.

Exo-K, composed of Chanyeol, Suho, DO, Sehun , Baekhyun and Kai, first visited Manila in January for a concert with Exo-M and other Kpop groups. Exo impressed  Filipino fans with its rendition of Yeng Constantino’s “Hawak-kamay.” The group is  promoting its latest single “Growl.”

Feeling good

“It feels good to be able to meet the Philippine fans again,” Chanyeol said at the concert’s promotional video.

Dal Shabet’s Serri, Ah Young, Jiyul, Woohee, GaEun and Subin, on the other hand, will be meeting  Filipino fans for the first time. The group debuted in 2011 with the single “Supa Dupa Diva.” Dal Shabet won the Best Newcomer Award at the Golden Disc Awards in 2012.

“We will show you a cool performance so please come. Let’s meet in the Philippines,” the girls said.

As always, Filipino fans have been preparing surprise projects for their K-pop idols. The fan clubs are again expected to welcome the K-pop groups  at the airport.
