Actor Mitch Pileggi confirms role in X-Files revival
Veteran "X-Files" actor Mitch Pileggi is slated to return for the upcoming Fox event series, according to a tweet from the actor late Monday night.
Pileggi, who played FBI boss Walter Skinner, appeared in more than 80 episodes of the original series, and both feature films.
"X-Files" star David Duchovny mentioned Pileggi's likely return during a recent appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman," but Fox had remained silent about who would be appearing alongside him and co-lead Gillian Anderson.
Fox announced on March 24 that it would be bringing back the popular show for a six-episode "episode series".
Shooting is due to start this summer but further details have yet to be announced.
