Aha Radio app takes top 'entertainment' prize at CTIA Wireless

The app Aha Radio, which organizes users' favorite internet content into a personalized on-demand radio station, was named the best Social, Content, Media and Entertainment app at high tech trade show CTIA wireless on May 9. 

Aha Radio 2.0 from Harman International took the top prize at CTIA's Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards in the category Mobile Applications - Social, Content, Media and Entertainment on May 9.

The free app enables users to access the latest news and entertainment podcasts, listen to radio stations from around the world, listen to personalized local search results and even listen on their Twitter and Facebook feeds.

Second prize went to AT&T's U-verse Enabled Apps, a series of interactive TV apps which work with the U-verse TV receivers to display media and data on a TV screen. Third place went to Doro Experience by  Doro which aids seniors in communicating with friends and family around the world thanks to a user-friendly interface and easy-to-use web interface; the Doro Experience works on both Android and iOS platforms.

CTIA (May 8-10) in New Orleans is one of the world's biggest tech fairs, hosting more than 1,000 exhibitors and over 40,000 spectators in 2012. The show covers wireless and converged communications, wireless broadband, mobile web computing and data industries.
