Ai Ai advises James Yap on Bimby
After rekinding their friendship in 2008 following a rift the year before, when Ai Delas Alas sided with TV host Kris Aquino at the height of her legal battle with former husband James Yap, the comedienne and the star basketball player have become as close as ever.
"Kami ni James kasi bago kami naging magkaibigan, naging magkaaway muna kami eh. So di ba parang sweet iyon na nagkaalaman na kayo na 'Okay na ito friend ha,' nagkapasensyahan, sorry. Nagkapaliwanagan kayo. Mas nakilala niyo ang isa't isa, I think iyon ang nangyari sa amin kaya naging close kami ni James," Ai-Ai said during the press conference of The PEP List 2013 in Mango Tree Bistro on Thursday, March 27.
Relationship with Kris
The Kapamilya actress advises James on how he can get closer to his son Bimby. Ai-Ai also watches James' basketball games.
"Sinasabihan ko siya kung paano maging mabuting ama, kung paano matutuwa si Kris sa kanya. Mabait naman ito," she said.
But Ai-Ai is not as open about her relationship with Kris, with whom the comedienne is reportedly at odds.
"Friend ko siya (James), friend ko rin naman si Kris. Nagkataon lang di ba? In any relationship, sila nga nag-aaway di ba, kami rin nag-aaway. Ganoon talaga ang buhay. Tapos nagbabati. Bati na sila (Kris-James), bati na kami (Ai-Ai-James), bati na lahat."
How ‘rift’ started
Ai Ai reportedly felt bad due to Kris' absence at the wake of her (Ai-Ai's) biological mother last December.
But Ai Ai practically denied this in a separate interview.

Ai-Ai also playfully talked about Dennis Trillo, whom she jokingly called her "inspiration" at the recent Star Awards.

"Nung umupo na si Aga (Muhlach) sa amin. Alam niyang single ito (looking at Dennis’ direction)? Alam niya ring single ako. Siya yung nagloloko sa amin. Sabi niya, 'May katabi ka na namang gwapo. Mamaya baka bilhan mo na naman ng kotse iyan.' Sabi ko, 'Dennis, do you love cars?' Sinakyan ko na lang ng sinakyan sa ngalan ng huwag na lang kami ma-bore."
Although Ai Ai and Dennis have exchanged celphone numbers, the comedienne insists they are just friends. Ai-Ai also shared that she wanted Dennis to star in her upcoming movie, but the actor is doing an indie project.
