Ai Ai to cut down on showbiz work in 2016

Ai Ai delas Alas has always been vocal about her plans to enter politics.  But she did not give a time frame regarding these plans – until now.

Now, the comedienne has set a deadline for herself: 2016.

“Lie low ako sa showbiz in five years para mag-politika naman,” she said in her post-birthday celebration sponsored by Flawless at Naci Restaurant, Greenhills today, Nov. 26.

Five years from now, Ai Ai sees herself cutting down on showbiz work and setting aside her career.

Vilma’s advice

So if she can’t run for mayor in Calatagan, Batangas, Ai Ai sees herself running for councilor or congresswoman in Manila.

Wherever position it is, Ai Ai wants to start lying low in the showbiz scene while she’s at the peak of her career.

Meantime, Ai Ai has no reason to slow down.  The PMPC Star Awards’ winner for Best Single Performance by an Actress and Best Comedy Actress has another Metro Filmfest entry, “Enteng ng Ina Mo.”

Cool lang siya,” Ai-ai describes her leading man.

Vic also happens to be a favorite of Ai Ai’s biological mom.  And now that her mom has moved to Manila from Batangas so she can get better medical care for her ailment, Ai-ai says she can always take her to the premiere of “Enteng” to see Vic in the flesh.

Walk of Fame

But before that, the star of “My Binondo Girl” will join the elite list of actors who belong to German ‘Kuya Germs’ Moreno’s Walk of Fame in Eastwood Mall. Ai Ai will get her “star” in the Walk of Fame on Dec. 1.

Kidding aside, Ai Ai admits she is resigned to remaining single for the rest of her life.

Besides, she muses, one cannot have it all in life. There’s got to be some balance somewhere.

Foster mom

Aside from her career, Ai Ai’s attention is focused on Seth Andrei, a baby she has been acting as foster mom to for the past seven months.

Ai Ai’s hairdresser asked her to take care of the infant when he was only two to three days old.

If only she could, Ai Ai wants to breastfeed him because the baby is allergic to cow’s milk.  So she buys him an expensive brand that’s lactose free.

“Kapag nginitian niya (the baby) ako , tapos na.  Nakakatuwa. Parati  ko siyang kasama sa taping at shooting,” Ai Ai goes on.

The baby’s baptism has been moved from December this year to January next year because of Ai Ai’s hectic schedule.  She adds that she will keep the event simple because “star na ang kanyang mga ninong at ninang.”

Ai Ai says she has chosen Sharon Cuneta, Kris Aquino, Jolo Revilla and the stars of “My Binondo Girl” as the baby’s godparents.

Seth Andrei’s baptism will help Ai Ai - a Dragon Baby - start 2012 - the Year of the Dragon -- on a bright note.

After all, Ai Ai says an ABS-CBN executive told her she will have a soap next year.

Will Ai Ai do a Sharon and switch networks should another station dangle a P1-B contract before her?
