Albums that were released after the ferry sinking accident getting low reactions

Most of the singers postponed their new album releases, mourning for the ferry sinking accident, but some artists are still releasing their albums as planned because of their own reasons.

From April 17th, which is the day after the ferry sinking accident, until 23rd, approximately 200 songs were registered to Korea Music Copyright Association.

Most of the newly registered songs are songs of Indi-musicians, drama OSTs, project songs, and theme songs. For Indi-musicians, since they produce their albums themselves, deciding to postpone releasing their new albums is not as easy as singers who are in management contracts with major management agencies.

In addition, the release dates for drama OSTs get decided depending on the drama's flow, and because they usually do not do any particular promotion activities for the songs, many singers pushed on releasing the songs on the originally planned date.

However, some of the songs were released while targeting certain groups of people, and the songs are not doing as well on charts.

Among all of the songs that were released after April 17th, only seven songs were ranked within top 100 on real time charts. Among the seven songs, ULALA SESSION's 'Conversation of Dreams,' which is a part of Joo Young Hoon's 20th debut anniversary album, has peaked the highest ranking(24th).

Other than that, Jang Hee Young's 'The Days We Loved' was ranked 32rd, Bernard Park's 'Because I Loved You' was ranked 37th, and Yoon Gun's 'I Loved You Too Much' was ranked 43rd, but they are all getting relatively lower rankings than expected.

There has been a huge decrease in the number of online music service webs users after the ferry accident, and it is almost impossible for many singers to bring active promotions out. Thus, it seems that this atmosphere will be continued for a while.

An official said, "Most of the Indi-musicians who are releasing new albums in this situation are releasing them because of their own management problems. Most of them are not as well-known to the public, so they don't seem to be postponing their album releases. However, singers who are relatively well-known to the public are not getting as great feedbacks."
