Alice Dixson on Rustom Padilla’s 'death': ‘nagulat ako’

Three years after BB Gandanghari’s announcement of Rustom Padilla’s 'death', Alice Dixson shares how she felt about the transformation.

“Nagulat ako. And eventually, like everybody else, you come to an acceptance, eh… kasi like me, at first I was a little awkward and then later on nung nagkakapagusap kami, I get to know him again,” she revealed to members of the media at the “Enchanted Garden” press conference last August 30 at Annabel’s restaurant in Quezon City.

Alice and Rustom played husband and wife in “Minsan May Isang Pamilya” in 1999. It was Alice’s last time to work with Rustom before he became BB so seeing him again, and working with him again for “Enchanted Garden” was “hard” at first for her.

“It’s hard kasi parang you meet somebody, and then you’re meeting (this) somebody again, so you have to take out kung ano yung dati mong pagkakilala and then you have to get to know this new person, but then it’s not really a new person.”

But Alice is happy for BB.

“I don’t judge anybody. Whatever life choices somebody picks for themselves—whatever makes them happy, diba?”

Future plans

Alice is planning to go back to Canada when she “Enchanted Garden” is over.

“After the show, I’m going to take a little bit of a breather kasi I need a break. Sunud sunod yung work ko, eh, since I got back.”

She is also planning to stay in Vancouver again long enough to her citizenship. But even before getting to do any of these, Alice already has two new offers.

“I have two offers but I can’t talk about (them) right now, both movie offers. One is an indie film, and then the other one is another project with another network pero hindi ko pa yun napapaalam sa TV5 so hindi ko alam kung matutuloy yun,” she shares while clarifying that while she’s not in an exclusive contract with the network, she wants their approval as a form of courtesy.
