Art agenda: Art Monaco, Paris Photo Los Angeles

Among upcoming art exhibitions, art lovers and socialites descend upon Monaco for the principality's annual art fair, Paris Photo puts on its LA show, and China welcomes national and international works to Art Beijing.

Forum Grimaldi, Monaco

With Colombia, Russia, Armenia and Israel welcomed as guest countries, Art Monaco mixes art, culture, glamour and the French Riviera. Highlighted artists include Malaysia's Liu Cheng Hua, the Netherlands' Mais, and Austria-based Anga Sterrenberg as well as master modern artist Roy Lichtenstein.

Paris Photo Los Angeles

Paramount Pictures Studios, Los Angeles, USA

81 exhibitors, 69 international galleries, and 12 US publishers descend on Paramount's New York Street Backlot in LA to host a weekend's worth of photographic splendor. This year includes material from the LAPD archive, plus the two public Sound and Vision programs, The Conversations and The Screenings. A separate contemporary photography fair, Photo Independent, takes place at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood at the same time.

Art Beijing
April 30 - May 5
Agricultural Exhibition Center of China, Beijing

Contemporary and classic art combine at this major venue for Chinese and particularly Beijing-based galleries -- and yet with around 30 percent of exhibitors hailing from international territories. Art Platforms will be held by the French, Israeli and Mexican embassies and the Instituto Cervantes de Pekin, with public works installed outside the fair pavilion.

Wedding Dresses 1775-2014

With clothing from Charles James, Vivienne Westwood and Vera Wang, the V&A's exhibition has a good claim to displaying "the most romantic, glamorous and iconic dresses from the last 200 years." Meanwhile, Charles James's "Beyond Fashion" is at the New York Met from May to August.

Frieze Masters
May 9-12

The Frieze Art Fair returns to Manhattan, featuring over 190 of the world's most prestigious galleries. In addition, there are to be six commissioned artists, a wide-ranging series of lectures and talks, an education space, and three specially commissioned audio works. The citywide festival NYCxDesign runs May 9-20, with Verge Art NYC May 9-10.

Martial Raysse

Founding member of the 1960s' Nouveaux Réalistes movement Martial Raysse is celebrated with a diverse collection of artworks ranging from the neon and metal sculpture "America America" to the camera trickery of his installation "Identité, maintenant vous êtes un Martial Raysse" ("Identity, now you are a Martial Raysse").
