Will Joseph Cook

Fresh off a show at Glastonbury, 18-year-old Will Joseph Cook is getting buzz for his latest single, "Beach," coming out on an EP this summer.

Who?
At the tender age of 18, British singer-songwriter Will Joseph Cook, who hails from Kent, has accomplishments to spare. His debut EP, "You Jump I Run," has gotten more than 1 million streams, he recently performed a sold-out show in London and just appeared at the Glastonbury Festival on the BBC Introducing Stage, and his follow-up EP, "Proof Enough" -- coming from major label Atlantic Records, no less -- is due out August 11.

Why the buzz?
With influences ranging from Darwin Deez to Nick Cave, Cook has an ear for hooks and melodies and an engaging voice.

Writing of his latest track, "Beach," Consequence of Sound writes, "hints of folk, blues, and even surf surface here and there, adding to the song's universal appeal. Perhaps what really seals the deal is the young troubadour's vocals, which rise and fall ever so gently like a cool, August night's breeze."

"Packed with summer feeling and pop potential, it's reminiscent of prime Talking Heads but with a ramshackle twist worthy of King Krule," writes Clash Music of the track, calling it "almost immediately addictive."

What to listen to?
Debut EP "You Jump I Run" can be found on iTunes, and its four tracks are also available on SoundCloud along with new single "Beach." Look for new EP "Proof Enough" on iTunes via smarturl.it/ProofEnough starting August 11.
