Ashley Clements wins Streamy Best Actress for 'Lizzie Bennet Diaries'

YouTube star Ashley Clements emerged from the 4th Annual Streamy Awards with the accolade for Best Actress in a Drama, ahead of the Streamys' finale on September 7.

"Pride and Prejudice" adaptation "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" plots the escapades of Mass Communications major Lizzie, her two sisters Lydia and Jane (Mary Kate Wiles, Laura Spencer), and best friend Charlotte (Julia Cho) through a 100-hundred episode series of video diaries helmed primarily by Lizzie herself.

The series has been developed under the guidance of two experienced creatives: Hank Green of the Vlogbrothers channel, "Crash Course," "SciShow," and brother to "The Fault in our Stars" writer John Green, and Bernie Su, who has overseen "LOOKBOOK: the series," another Jane Austen update in "Emma Approved," and previous Streamy Award winner "Compulsions."

Joining Clements in the Performance category were Joey Graceffa of "Storytellers" for Best Actor in a Drama, Mamrie Hart of "You Deserve a Drink" for Best Actress in a Comedy, and David Milchard of "Convos with My 2-Year-Old" for Best Actor in a Comedy.

Zach Galifianakis and Barack Obama were awarded Best Collaboration for their shared episode of spoof interview series "Between Two Ferns."

Other award categories covered music, animation, brand campaigns, channels, shows and series.

The remaining Streamys, which cover 14 category awards in action and sci-fi, beauty, comedy, gaming, kids and family, vines, and two Audience Awards, will be presented in a livestreamed event hosted by
Hannah Hart and Grace Helbig starting at 7:30 pm PT on Sunday September 7 via streamys.org.
