"So near, yet so far."

Thus did BB Gandanghari describe the situation he and former wife Carmina Villarroel found themselves in when when they attended Kathryn Bernardo's debut.

BB came with his family to support his nephew Daniel Padilla, and the birthday girl, Katrhyn. Carmina, on the other hand, was with husband Zoren Legaspi and their children.

But BB and Carmina failed to exchange hellos.

Side by side

At the press launch of Bench Whitening Lotion on Friday, April 4, BB told the press that he and Carmina were "side by side," because their respective tables were next to each other during the debut.

Ever since Rustom came out as BB, the two haven’t  talked to each other yet.  BB feels the party was "not the right time" for them to discuss anything.

“Of course, I can always say hi, wala namang masama. It's just that ayaw kong mapaglaruan at that time. Anyway, it's the first time na magkikita sina BB and Carmina. So, I guess it should be best kung isang mas private na place or something."

"Hindi naman sa sinadya pero hindi lang nagkaroon ng pagkakataon. Ang drama namin is so near, yet so far. Chos! But wala eh, parang walang nag-introduce sa amin, so ganoon na lang iyon," he added.

No cameras, please

Carmina admitted on "Buzz ng Bayan" that she felt "tense" upon learning that   BB was also at the party.  And just like BB, she wants to keep their meeting private.

BB knows  he and Carmina will surely  see and speak to each other someday, because  both of them are in showbiz. But when that day comes, there must be no cameras to record the event.

"Napakaliit ng mundong ito para hindi kami magkita o magkausap nang aksidente. Nakahanda na ako doon anytime so, hindi na ako natataranta kapag ganyan. Kasi maliit lang ang mundo natin magkikita at magkikita talaga kami. Sana wala lang cameras."

Very promising

BB describes his career and personal life  as "very promising" so far.  He is into martial arts training for his upcoming movie with brother Robin Padilla.

"Binubusisi na lang yung script. But I'm already training, MMA fighter ang peg ko. Nadidivelop yung passion ko for kickboxing. So, I guess it's best na gumawa ng pelikula regarding that.”

Rustom and Carmina's marriage was annulled in 2002.  Four years later, Rustom came out of the closet in and transformed as BB Gandanghari in 2009.
