Kapuso teen star Bea Binene and  lawyer Ferdinand Topacio have finally ended their two-year dispute and reached a compromise agreement  on the cases they filed against each other.

"We have settled our differences. The only thing that has to be done is our appearances in the court. I have to personally appear to affirm before the judge under oath my affidavit of desistance withdrawing my cases against her, they also have to do the same thing," Topacio told Yahoo! Philippines in a phone interview on Friday, March 14.

Payment made

Topacio added that Bea's camp already issued him payment.

It will be recalled that Topacio filed a P5.7 million civil case for damages and estafa against Bea's camp in October 2013. The issue started when  Topacio filed a child abuse case against radio disc jockey Dan Christian Villanueva, a.k.a. Papa Dan on Bea’s behalf at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Since Papa Dan stayed at the Binenes’ guest house for seven months without pay, Bea’s mother, Carina allegedly sought Topacio’s legal advice. GMA Artist Center, meanwhile, said Topacio was not authorized to file the case and that it has assigned another lawyer as Bea’s legal counsel.

Lawyer files charges vs Bea’s camp

Bea's camp refused to issue an apology, after they were accused of ruining Topacio’s name.

Joint statement

"We'll issue a joint statement, basically saying that everything is a result of misunderstanding and that we regret the things that we have said to each other," Topacio said.

The lawyer added  he’s now in good terms with his former client.

"Yes. I have forgiven and forgotten everything that has transpired. If they're in any way slighted by any of my acts, I also presumed that they have also forgiven and forgotten."

Moving on

Bea, on the other hand, refused to further comment about the issue. However, she confirmed  that they have already settled the legal dispute with Topacio.

"Sabi ni Mama, okay na daw. Ayaw kong sa akin manggaling, unang-una hindi ako yung pumupunta sa court. Nababasa ko yung mga motion, pero it's up to Mama," Bea told the press during BUM Equipment's fashion show on Wednesday, March 12, where she was introduced as its new endorser, along with Nash Aguas, Jane Oineza, Diego Loyzaga and Ella Cruz.

Bea herself has moved on.

"Tapos na iyon. Huwag na natin ibalik yung mga tapos na."
