Hours after he was detained at the Taguig City Police Station on Sunday, September 7, Billy Crawford apologized for his actions, but maintained that he did not hurt anyone.

“It was my fault. Pero wala akong nasaktan, wala akong tinulak. Wala akong tinamaan, kundi yung salamin. Sorry sa salamin,” Billy said in an interview on DZMM.

Early reports said Billy allegedly lost control, punched a female desk officer and broke a glass door in the police station.

Billy added that he doesn’t know where the reported charges of malicious mischief against him are coming from.

Need to be controlled

“I don’t see anything wrong with what I did. It was my fault for actually being aggressive. Buti na lang it didn’t happen in a bar. It didn’t happen anywhere else. It happened in a precinct. And the reason why is because I knew for the fact that I need to be controlled. I needed to be in a controlled environment.”

Billy admitted his faults and apologized to the police officers.

“I apologized to the officers if I said anything derogatory. Quite frankly, kausap ko naman yung mga pulis na quite helpful din naman on my part. They just asked me to do a drug test, which I don’t do drugs. I just had a few drinks too many, and it was irresponsible on my part.”

Billy assumed full responsibility for his actions.

Control of aggression

“It’s my responsibility. Wala naman akong nasaktan na tao. Lahat ng tao may pinagdadaanan.”

He explained that he went to the precinct so he can control his aggression.

“It’s an aggression. I’m just really exhausted. I’m really stressed out by certain situations. We try to be the best that we are. We are not perfect. Ibig sabihin na ayaw kong makasakit, ibig sabihin, I’m getting the aggression. Usually for me, when I’m angry, I’m not plastic. If someone says derogatory things to me, reresbak ako. It’s my protection. That’s one of the reasons why I went to the precinct, to just say 'Please arrest me.' Because I don’t want to be drunk, roaming around, making a fool of myself, which I am right now.”

Billy also apologized to his family, friends and supporters.

“I can’t contain myself if I’m under the influence of alcohol. Sasabihin ko nga that was the only thing that was wrong for me. I just really apologize.”

Legal proceedings

Meanwhile, ALV Talent Circuit Inc., which manages Billy’s career, said it will go through a legal process to clarify matters. Its official statement reads:

“It is unfortunate that so many rumors are being circulated regarding an event which we will clear through the proper legal proceedings.”

“We thank the police for being professional while appropriate investigation on the incident is being conducted.”

“We ask media to respect Billy's right to due process and privacy on this matter.”

“Rest assured that he did not hurt anyone and no one was injured as it's not in his nature to do so.”

“We are confident that truth shall prevail in the end.”
