New Brian Wilson biopic trailer lands

Brian Wilson will headline this year's Montreux jazz fest

"Love and Mercy" charts the life of the former Beach Boy and is due to hit US cinemas on June 5.

The film, directed by Bill Pohlad, stars Paul Dano as the young Wilson and John Cusack as an older version and is less of a conventional biopic and more an examination of the seminal moments in the musician, singer and composer's life covering his struggles with alcohol, drugs and mental health issues as well as his undisputed musical genius.

As co-founder and front man of The Beach Boys, Wilson is credited with reinventing the concept of musical production and of conceiving the California sound.
