Cannes: 'Pulp Fiction' gets surprise screening for 20th anniversary

This Friday, May 23, Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino will present "Pulp Fiction" in a special screening in Cannes, 20 years to the day after the film won the festival's Palme d'Or.

Tarantino was already expected to make an appearance on the final day of the Cannes Film Festival (Saturday, May 24) to present a restored version of "A Fistful of Dollars," but the news of his presence and Uma Thurman's one day earlier comes as a surprise.

The director and lead actress of "Pulp Fiction" will be in the spotlight on May 23 at a special screening of the film to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its victory in Cannes in 1994, the Hollywood Reporter indicates.

Between the Cannes Film Festival, the Oscars, the Golden Globes and the Baftas, Tarantino's cult thriller claimed a total of 22 nominations and 5 awards between 1994 and 1995.
