Cappellini unveils 2014 collection in New York during WantedDesign

Contemporary Italian furniture brand Cappellini is unveiling its new ‘Orla' sofa Stateside this week as part of NYCxDesign.

Created by British designer Jasper Morrison, the Orla collection was debuted in Europe earlier this year at the Salone del Mobile design fair in Milan.

Now in New York as part of WantedDesign, the series comprises a three-seater sofa, two-seater sofa and armchair. Featuring padded cushions and clean lines, the pieces are both comfortable and contemporary looking, encased in a thin fabric shell containing large pillows.

The brand's 2014 collection contains other pieces designed by Morrison for the 2014 season, including the limited edition ‘Thinking Man's Chair', an industrial brass-plated armchair.

Additional pieces by Japanese designer Nendo will be on display at the event, and Cappellini will be hosting an exhibition of new works by the artist Ivan Butorac in its showroom to coincide with the event.

WantedDesign runs May 16-19.
