Carmina willing to interview ex-husband
Carmina Villarroel is willing to interview former husband Rustom Padilla, now known as BB Gandanghari, in the new showbiz-oriented talk show “Showbiz Inside Report.
“I’m open to that. Kung okay sa kanya and okay sa aming team, why not?,” Carmina said at the press conference for “Showbiz Inside Report” at the ABS-CBN compound on Tuesday, January 31.
No bitterness
Why did she easily agree to an interview with BB?
“Siguro kasi ang tagal na rin, I have moved on. Wala nang bitterness, walang hatred.”
She added that the staff of the show is just waiting for BB to approve the interview.
Carmina thinks it’s interesting to know who BB really is.
“Nakakatulong rin na different person sya, like yung sinasabi niya na patay na yung person (Rustom). Kaya nga lagi kong sinasabi na kapag nakita ko si BB, magpapakilala talaga ako kasi hindi ko siya kilala, hindi nya ko kakilala. Technically, hindi ko na siya kilala as a person.”
She added that the interview -- if it pushes through -- is perfect timing since they have long forgiven each other. She admitted that Rustom opened up to her, even before he went inside the PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) house .
“Before siyang pumasok sa PBB, nagkausap kami. Para kaming friends, walang awkwardness. Ang importante siguro, napatawad na namin ang isa’t isa,” Carmina relates.
Carmina is excited for her comeback show in the Kapamilya network with long-time friends Janice, Joey and Ogie.
“Showbiz Inside Report” sees her getting up close and personal with celebrities instead of delving on issues.
“When I do an interview, iniisip ko na I’m just myself. What you see is what you get. I don’t have pretensions, not pa-know-it-all. I make it a point na yung iniinterview ko maging comfy siya sa akin. I want it to be light and candid, kasi that’s me.”
Walk out issue
She denied walking out from a commercial shoot with Claudine Barretto because of the latter’s demands.
“May nakwento nga sa akin na may issue kami ni Clau (Claudine) at nagwalk-out ako, it’s not true na may ganoong insidente. Clau and I are friends, we’re okay,” Carmina clarified.
She added that the issue made some people give negative comments about her, so she had to speak up to defend herself and Claudine. Carmina revealed that she and Claudine haven’t discussed the issue yet because the latter and husband Raymart Santiago are still in Europe.
“Kaya na-weirduhan ako kasi kahit hindi kami close, friends kami. Kaya nga I had to speak up, I had to clear this up kasi wala siya here to defend herself,” Carmina explained.
She added that their commercial was filmed two years ago and they have not done a TVC together ever since. She revealed that the rumored incident can never take place since she’s not the type to walk out when irked.
“Never akong nagwalk out. At saka napaka-understanding ko sa mga bagay. Ako yung isang tao na madaling katrabaho. So kahit difficult person ka, sasakyan kita. So, walang ganun,” she said.
“Showbiz Inside Report” debuts on ABS-CBN this Saturday, Feb. 4, after “Happy Yipee Yehey.”
