It takes a seasoned eye to detect talent.  When it comes to dance, Georcelle Sy, choreographer of “ASAP” and Anne Curtis’ upcoming concert  “AnneKapal” singles out a few more names besides Anne, Sarah Geronimo, KC Concepcion and Enrique Gil, whose names she mentioned in a previous interview with Yahoo! Celebrity.

“Iba ang pag-evolve ni Iya (Villania) sa sayaw.  She’s very adventurous. Acrobatic and presentation niya. Cirque de Soleil ang path that she’s taking,” said Georcelle.

She also singles out Sam Milby.

“Athlete siya.  Iba ang ibinibigay nyang sayaw sa entablado.”

Georcelle has other celebrity clients, like Kris Aquino, who sweats it out in  private Zumba lessons. Iza Calzado, Dr. Vicki Belo and daughter Cristalle, enrolled in sensual dance sessions.

Georcelle reports that Vice Ganda loves it "kapag hinihimay-himay ko ang mga production numbers."

Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi signed up their twins, Mavy and Cassy for dance lessons.  So did Vina Morales, who, like them, believes dancing can do wonders for her daughter Ceana’s posture.

No substitute for the basics

“We have one big studio which can accommodate 40 people. This summer, fun ang vibe sa studio dahil sa mga bata.  We  even have a PLDT wi-fi connection,” Georcelle says.

In this time and age of YouTube when learning a new dance is a mouse click away, Georcelle says there’s still no substitute for the basics.

“Hindi ka makakajump kung hindi ko inaral ang tamang take off.”

Discipline

This summer, she is teaching young dance students how to take off.  And Georcelle knows that more than just the right moves, she is showing her young students a tool that will see them through life – discipline.

And so, as she shouts, “1,2,3!” Georcelle knows she’s not just talking to a faceless crowd.  She’s talking to the next generation.
