Claudine Barretto: Kay Marjorie ako pinakagalit
The Barretto family feud is far from over. In fact, it is back in full swing.
Claudine Barretto gave fresh details about it an interview with "Buzz ng Bayan" on Sunday, May 11,
She said that the family conflict started in 2010, when her siblings Gretchen and Marjorie sent an ambulance to their house because of her (Claudine's) alleged "overdose" of anti-anxiety medicines.
Arrival of ambulance
"Nagpadala siya ng ambulansiya sa bahay namin ni Raymart (Santiago, her estranged husband). I was with my friends. Nakita ko kaagad si Marjorie, andoon si Gretchen. Paglabas ko, sabi ni Gretchen, 'Can I please go in?' Since kapatid ko naman siya, pinapasok ko sila. Later on dumating na yung ambulance with the pediatrician. I think there were eight men inside. I asked my sisters, 'What is this?' Nakita ko kasi na may straightjacket itong mga ito.”
Claudine recalls asking what they are getting her for. She then looked at the doctor and said, 'Do something!'
“I knew my rights because they were trespassing. Sabi ko sa kanila, 'Saan? Sa drug addiction or sa mental illness?' Hindi ko alam. Then sabi niya (Gretchen), 'Basta doc, nag-overdose iyan,'" Claudine said.
Mental torture
But she denied claims that she is mentally ill and traced her behavior to mental torture instead.
" According to my psychiatrist, it is mental torture. Iba yung mental illness sa mental torture eh. I was diagnosed with battered wife syndrome."
She claims feeling "angry, hurt and even depressed" for a while.
"And mahirap yung mga pinagdaanan ko, madaming lies, deceits, pagtatraydor. Sinasabi n’yo na I'm not fit as a mother. My children are doing well in school. Then my brother and sisters will witness against me. Nasa Instagram sila, nag-Christmas party, everything that will hurt or destroy me, they will do.”
She called Gretchen "heartless," and accused her sisters of “bullying" her.
Accusations of name calling
"The day that she started talking bad about my kids on the phone, on speaker and Raymart was there. Raymart, bahala na siya sa Diyos niya. He was there when Gretchen started calling them names. When she said na, ‘Wala ka ng career, baboy ka, lechon, wala ka ng power.' Sabi niya, 'You will never be back in this industry. Magpakamatay ka na lang, Claudine.’ You know, Gretchen, you swear on your child’s life if you did not say that. I dare you, because you are such a liar,” Claudine said.
Claudine added that she hates Marjorie the most for allegedly starting the conflict between her and Gretchen. Claudine was also hurt when Marjorie allegedly did not allow her to see her nieces and nephew.
"Sa lahat-lahat, kay Marjorie ako pinakagalit. Kasi pinag-away kami ni Gretchen. One thing I will forever regret is that I always made life easy for my sister, for Marjorie. But she killed me on the day na tinanggal niya yung karapatan ko to see my nieces. Nakalimutan niya ako, yung ako talaga. I don't know her anymore. I grieved for her. Pinatay ko na siya sa buhay ko. I will never ever do things to hurt my nieces."
Marjorie’s denial
Marjorie denied Claudine's claims in a statement sent "Buzz ng Bayan."
"Claudine, you never borrowed my children. You didn't even try to call them. I never deprived you of seeing my children. Please don't claim to love my children when not too long ago, you tried so hard to destroy them."
Marjorie also clarified that they sent an ambulance to Claudine's house because the latter allegedly "finished" all her anti-anxiety medicines. Marjorie said that they were just "saving" Claudine's life.
"Claudine, for your information, mom and dad begged us to rush to your house because your personal assistant told them you’ve finished all your anti-anxiety medicines. We had with us a doctor and an ambulance from a very reputable hospital because we didn’t want you to die, Claudine."
Marjorie also urged her parents, Miguel and Inday Barretto, to admit their alleged decisions about Claudine.
Appeal to parents
"Dad and mom, please don’t deny the fact that the orders to rush her to a hospital came from both of you. We did not have a straitjacket. That is a lie. Claudine, we were protecting you. We did not want you to die, most especially in front of your children."
